Gangwar Rules and Terms
- You can play for free or with an annual subscription of £10. Free accounts get adverts and a limit of one free game per email address. Paid accounts don't have any adverts and can play in any number of games. (Only one position per game).
- Each game can take up to 250 players and will start when the waiting list reaches 50. New players will be accepted until 250 are playing or the number of uncontrolled blocks drops to below 500.
- You play with only one account. No more. You can have one position in multiple games but we will give priority (on the waiting lists) to paid accounts and anyone not currently playing.
- No multiple signups. No getting a friend or some 3rd party to signup and then transfer it to you. If you try it and we catch you, we'll do any of the following: Ban your account or tell other players or even inflict the curse of Al Capone on you. (No, not syphilis!) But you will experience a never ending run of bad luck in the game. It's our game- we can technically do that, and we will...if you are caught cheating.
- No harrassment or personal bullying of other players. Threatening other gangs within the game is acceptable but personal threats or bullying is not. Same penalty as multiple signups. We keep in-game messages for a month so if someone reports another player we can view the evidence.
- A modest amount of automation is acceptable. We'll even try and add tools (rss, possibly soap etc) at some point, but don't you dare run something that hits the site more than once every 15 minutes. Do that and we will enable Captchas, just for YOUR account. If you want to create automation tools, tell us and we''ll work with you.
- Using the ingame messaging to send any kind of commercial spam is NOT ok. Instant account termination, even if you're a Paid subscriber (no refund either) or free. Idle chit chat is fine.
- You are welcome to set up forums, offsite websites, fansites etc. Tell us and we'll add you to a links page.
Paying Annual Subscription (By Paypal)
From your details page, you can pay the subscription. You must use the same email address for paypal that you signed up with. (If you signed up with another email account, you can change your registered email address).
If in the future you wish a refund, email us and we'll refund it pro rata and minus £2 for admin costs. Ie if you've played for six months, we'll refund £3.00. (£5.00 minus £2.00). Why the deduction? Because when you pay us, Paypal takes a commission amount out and we don't receive the full £10.
We may modify these rules at some point.
